“Tailgate Tastefest” Tickets On Sale Now!

Tampa Bay’s Tailgate Tastefest is back for the 4th consecutive season at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park on September 30, 2017 and wristbands are on sale NOW!!!!

This event, which is FREE for all guests, will local restaurants that are eligible to win in several different categories as well as a “People’s Choice Award” for the favorite dish of the event!

While admission into the event is FREE, tasting wristbands are available for sale and now is the time to buy them before a price increase on August 1, 2017. Wristband prices are listed below:

  • 5-Sample Wristband $15
  • 10-Sample Wristband $25
  • VIP Wristband (Unlimited Samples/ Complimentary Drinks) $75

No outside food or drink is allowed into the Tailgate Tastefest but there is a “Bring Your Own Chair” policy to make the event even more enjoyable for guests in attendance.

Besides the tasting portion of the event, there will be College Football shown on every screen throughout the day and also live entertainment.

FREE TECO Streetcar Rides This Upcoming Fourth Friday

As the Fourth Friday of May approaches, as does the planning for the monthly “Fourth Friday” events in Downtown Tampa on May 26, 2017.

One of the most exciting promotions that will be happening this month is FREE TECO Streetcar Rides to all participating patrons (with a Fourth Friday Wristband). The Streetcar will be running regular hours throughout the day on Friday but those with the participating wristbands will receive the FREE ride. If you have never taken a ride on the Streetcar in Downtown Tampa and into Ybor City before, this is a great opportunity to try it out!

The Best Summer Camps In Tampa Bay

With Summer Break just about a week away, if you haven’t found a Summer Camp for your children to attend yet than now is the time to do so! There are many different Summer Day Camps right here in the Tampa Bay area that kids will love and offer activities for all different personalities and price ranges! Busch Gardens

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay has been offering educational Summer Caps for over 20 years! The Summer Camps at Busch Gardens are great for Kindergarteners up to Middle School. There are several different types of camps available for children depending on their age, how long you wish for them to attend as well as their interests. For the youngest campers, in the Kindergarten to Second Grade age group there is the Troopers’ Mini Camp, which is a 3-Day Mini Camp for $180.00 per child. Also in that same age group for $270.00 per child, there is the Animal Investigators, Jungle Jammers and Plant Patrollers all for children who wish to learn more about the animals that live at Busch Gardens.

For the 3rd and 4th Graders there is the Zoo Chefs Camp ($270.00)which is great for kids who love the kitchen and the Zoo-per Stars ($280.00) is great for kids who love to entertain and be on-stage and will even get to be on stage in their own shown at the end of the camp. The Bio Buddies Camp ($305.00) includes a trip to SeaWorld and a chance to feed Sea Lions. For the fifth and sixth graders there is an Adventure Apprentice Camp ($280) that teaches children all of the responsibilities and skills it takes to run an amusement park and the Splash Seekers Camp ($305), great for kids who love everything water and will include trips to Adventure Island and Sea World.

For the older kids at the seventh and eighth grade age level, the Junior Zookeepers Camp ($270) is especially great if your child loves animals and wants to learn more about the animals at Busch Gardens and how to care for each.

All the camps are a week-long and include lunch, snacks and refreshments each day as well as a Camp T-Shirt and Water Bottle, a Photo to mark the occasion and some of the best behind the scenes experiences they could ever imagine.

Lowry Park Zoo’s Summer Camps are back again this year and offer a summer full of fun for children from Kindergarten up to and including eight grade. Camps run 9:00am-4:00pm each day and there is extended care available from 7:00am-9:00am and 4:00-6:00pm each day as well.

Lunch will be served each day of the camp but children should bring two snacks as well as a water bottle they can refill with them for throughout their day. Each week of the camp will have a designated theme to keep it interesting for all of the campers. Tampa’s very own Florida Aquarium in Downtown will begin their Aqua Camps at the beginning of June and run all summer break. Like many other camps the Aqua Camps are paid for on a weekly basis and vary depending on age (K-8) and length of camp. Aqua Camps are available for Morning Sessions, Afternoon Camps and Full Day Camps.

For the older kids there are not only On-Location Camps but also Off-Location Camps that offer field-trip experiences to campers to broaden their horizons even farther. For 12-15 year olds there is also a 2-week Scuba Camp and Advanced Scuba Camp for 15-18 year olds.

Tampa Bay Margarita Festival 2017

The annual Tampa Bay Margarita Festival will be back at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park on May 27, 2017 from 12:00pm until 11:00am. This year’s event will include an entire day of fun, food drinks and entertainment which features special guest The Barenaked Ladies headlining the event. The event will then be capped off with a spectacular fireworks’ display.

There will be over ten Margarita Bars across the event all featuring unique and delicious margaritas such as the Sang-Rita, Bacon Rita, Classic Margarita, Corona-Rita, Strawberry Frozen Margaritas, Prickly Pear Margarita, BOLS Blue Margarita and many, many more to choose from. Margaritas will cost in the $6-$10 range.

The Tampa Bay Lightning will be hosting “Bolts Brew Fest” on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 7:00pm at Amalie Arena.

Although the event won’t be taking place for a few months, tickets for “Bolts Brew Fest” will be going on sale this Friday, May 5, 2017 at 10:00am, and this is going to be one of the most popular events of the season so you’ll want to get your tickets soon!

All proceeds from this event will benefit the Straz Center’s Arts Education Program, and this event alone has raised over $2 million to support that cause.

The ‘Burger Showdown’ Will Decide Who Has The Best Burger in the Bay!

Are you an aficionado of Burgers and are looking for the ultimate burger experience in Tampa? Then the 2017 Burger Showdown is definitely what you are looking for!

The 6th annual event will take place at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park in Downtown Tampa on Saturday, May 20, 2017 from 5:00pm-7:00pm. The event is FREE to enter but Burger Sampling Tickets are available for purchase.

Restaurants participating in the Burger Showdown will include, but aren’t limited to:

  • Just Grillin
  • Boca Kitchen and Market
  • Eats American Grill
  • Around the World Burgers
  • The Rolling Gourmet
  • The Bacon Boss
  • The Compass Grill

Guests who purchase sampling tickets will be able to sample a burger from each of the participating restaurants and vote their favorite. The Restaurant with the most votes will be named the “Best Burger in Tampa Bay”.

“Early Bird” tickets can be purchased online up until Monday, May 8, 2017. An Early Bird Burger Sampling Ticket is $20.00 (+1.99 Fee) per person and will include a sample from each restaurant as well as a FREE 16-ounce beer as a bonus for buying early. You can also purchase a Pair of Drink Tickets (up until May 19) for $14.00 each and includes a 16-ounce beer and a 6-ounce glass of wine. (Tickets purchased at the event will not include a beverage.)

There will be Culinary Professionals on hand as part of the Judges’ Panel and they will grade the burgers on Originality, Presentation and Taste.

All proceeds from the “Burger Showdown” will benefit the VooDoo Chef Foundation, which is an organization that helps give financial assistance to people who are looking to get a culinary or food service career and also provides meals to those in need.

There will be live entertainment, games and local vendors throughout the night with plenty of fun to have by all.

3rd Annual Tampa Riverfest

The 3rd Annual Tampa Riverfest will be taking place on May 6 and 7, 2017 and will be bigger and better than ever!

With the events spanning from beyond Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, this year’s Riverfest will begin on Saturday, May 6 and will include a Hot Dog Festival which will start with a “Weiner Dog Derby” from 10:00am until 4:00pm with proceeds supporting the Dashaund Rescue, a “Best of the Bay Hot Dog” Contest from 4:00pm until 8:00pm. But, even more exciting at 7:00pm there will be a Men and Women’s Qualifier for the “Nathan’s Famous 4th of July Hot Dog Eating Contest” and later that evening a Hot Air Balloon Glow at 8:30pm, which is always a popular event. (All of these above events will take place at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park.)

Also on Saturday at MacDill Park, there will be a pop-up bar from 11:00am until 5:00pm that will include local food vendors and even art exhibits. There will be live music at the Sail Pavilion and an “Asia Fest” at Cotanchobee Park near the Marriott Waterside Hotel.

The Gasparilla Stand-Up Paddle Board Invasion will take place at Water Works Park and the Kids of Imagination Play Area and Secret Walls Graffiti War Competition will be hosted by the Straz Center.

On Sunday, May 7 there will be just as much live entertainment as well as live music at Ulele and a Pops in the Park Concert. The Pirate Water Taxi will also join in on the fun and be offering one-way rides for just $5 per person.
