Join the Florida Aquarium for 4th of July and Get A Great View of the Fireworks!

If you are looking for a great place to check out the Downtown Tampa Fireworks this 4th of July, then you might want to consider the Florida Aquarium.

The Florida Aquarium’s newest addition, the Mosaic Center will be open which will allow guests to view the Fireworks from the balcony and rooftop deck. Cash bars will be on hand for guests to enjoy, if you prefer a VIP type of view, that can also be made possible for just $10 per person.

If you are planning on visiting the Florida Aquarium, the Aquarium will be open until 9:30pm, which will include viewing the 9:00pm Fireworks  and a chance to see thousands of sea life as the exhibits will be open until 8:30pm.

Parking will be $10 per car after 2:00pm, Florida Aquarium Members will be able to park and enter for FREE, and can purchase the Premium Fireworks Viewing for $8 per person.

There is also a Fireworks’ Cruise on the Florida Aquarium’s very own Bay Spirit II that will board and then leave the dock at the Aquarium at 7:30pm for a two-hour cruise. Guests aboard the boat will experience the sunset around the Bay and then come back to the Channelside area to see the fireworks for an upclose, one of a kind view!

Guests aboard the Bay Spirit II’s Fireworks Cruise will be able to snack on appetizers and desserts and receive one free drink ticket.

“Light Up Tampa Bay” 4th of July Extravaganza

Independence Day is next week, have you made plans yet? There is plenty to do here in Tampa Bay to help celebrate America’s Birthday!

Downtown Tampa’s Annual Fireworks’ Extravaganza, “Light Up Tampa Bay” will once again be lighting up the skies of the surrounding Downtown Tampa area on Tuesday, July 4, 2017.

The highlight of the event will take place at Channelside Bay Plaza beginning at 6:00pm. This is a FREE public event that will feature the Tampa Bay Lightning Girls, Thunderbug and the Tampa Bay Rays’ Street Team. Local radio Stations 102.5 The Bone and 97x will also be on hand as will live entertainment from DJ Chris Beastly and DJ Xplicid along with music from Southern Train. The night will conclude with the Fireworks’ Display at 9:00pm.

Before entering the event, all guests and their bags will be searched and bags can not exceed 4.5″ x 6.5″.

  • Pets
  • Alcohol
  • Fireworks/Sparklers
  • Large Cameras
  • Any Outside Food

Proceeds from the event will benefit Big Brothers and Bog Sisters of Tampa Bay.

Parking for the event will range in price depending on the location. The surrounding Downtown Parking Lots will be open as well Parking Garages, but remember that special event parking fees will be in effect which on average range from $10-$20.


Join Lowry Park Zoo For The “Sunset Celebration”

When the sun sets this summer, Lowry Park Zoo will open the Zoo for guests to enjoy the “Sunset Celebration” every Friday and Saturday night until July 29, 2017 until 10:00pm.

Guests will get to see all of the animals who call Lowry Park Zoo home as well as enjoy some one-of-a-kind activities to celebrate the event as well as twenty craft beers, wines and other non-alcoholic beverages. Each week there will be live entertainment to enjoy, check the list below:

National Doughnut Day is Friday!

National Doughnut Day is June 2nd and what many don’t know is the perhaps the history behind the creation of the day honoring our favorite treat! “Tailgate Tastefest” Tickets On Sale Now!

Tampa Bay’s Tailgate Tastefest is back for the 4th consecutive season at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park on September 30, 2017 and wristbands are on sale NOW!!!!

This event, which is FREE for all guests, will local restaurants that are eligible to win in several different categories as well as a “People’s Choice Award” for the favorite dish of the event!

FREE TECO Streetcar Rides This Upcoming Fourth Friday

As the Fourth Friday of May approaches, as does the planning for the monthly “Fourth Friday” events in Downtown Tampa on May 26, 2017.

One of the most exciting promotions that will be happening this month is FREE TECO Streetcar Rides to all participating patrons (with a Fourth Friday Wristband). The Streetcar will be running regular hours throughout the day on Friday but those with the participating wristbands will receive the FREE ride. If you have never taken a ride on the Streetcar in Downtown Tampa and into Ybor City before, this is a great opportunity to try it out!

The Best Summer Camps In Tampa Bay

With Summer Break just about a week away, if you haven’t found a Summer Camp for your children to attend yet than now is the time to do so! Busch Gardens Tampa Bay has been offering educational Summer Caps for over 20 years! The Summer Camps at Busch Gardens are great for Kindergarteners up to Middle School. There are several different types of camps available for children depending on their age, how long you wish for them to attend as well as their interests. For the youngest campers, in the Kindergarten to Second Grade age group there is the Troopers’ Mini Camp, which is a 3-Day Mini Camp for $180.00 per child. Also in that same age group for $270.00 per child, there is the Animal Investigators, Jungle Jammers and Plant Patrollers all for children who wish to learn more about the animals that live at Busch Gardens.

For the 3rd and 4th Graders there is the Zoo Chefs Camp ($270.00)which is great for kids who love the kitchen and the Zoo-per Stars ($280.00) is great for kids who love to entertain and be on-stage and will even get to be on stage in their own shown at the end of the camp. The Bio Buddies Camp ($305.00) includes a trip to SeaWorld and a chance to feed Sea Lions. For the fifth and sixth graders there is an Adventure Apprentice Camp ($280) that teaches children all of the responsibilities and skills it takes to run an amusement park and the Splash Seekers Camp ($305), great for kids who love everything water and will include trips to Adventure Island and Sea World.

Tampa’s very own Florida Aquarium in Downtown will begin their Aqua Camps at the beginning of June and run all summer break. Like many other camps the Aqua Camps are paid for on a weekly basis and vary depending on age (K-8) and length of camp. Aqua Camps are available for Morning Sessions, Afternoon Camps and Full Day Camps.

For the older kids there are not only On-Location Camps but also Off-Location Camps that offer field-trip experiences to campers to broaden their horizons even farther. For 12-15 year olds there is also a 2-week Scuba Camp and Advanced Scuba Camp for 15-18 year olds.

Mother’s Day Specials This Weekend

This Mother’s Day Weekend there are several Tampa Bay area locations that will be offering specials just for Mom! Show Mom how much you love and appreciate everything she does for you by treating her to one of the fun experiences below!

Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI)

  • 4801 E. Fowler Avenue, Tampa, Florida 33617
    • Mom’s will receive FREE admission into MOSI with the purchase of their child’s paid general admission on Saturday, May 13 and Sunday, May 14 from 10:00am until 6:00pm.

Florida Aquarium

  • 701 Channelside Drive, Tampa, Florida 33602
    • On Saturday, May 13 and Sunday, May 14 all Mom’s will receive FREE admission into the Aquarium with a paid full admission price from 9:30am until 5:00pm.

Lowry Park Zoo

  • 1101 W. Sligh Avenue, Tampa, Florida 33604
    • Lowry Park Zoo will celebrating Mom’s on both Saturday, May 13 and Sunday, May 14 from 9:30am until 5:00pm  with FREE admission with the purchase of another paid general admission ticket.

Glazer Children’s Museum

  • 110 W. Gasparilla Plaza, Tampa, Florida 33602
    • For the second year in a row, the Glazer Children’s Museum will be having a Mom’s Lounge from 1:00pm-6:00pm on Sunday, May 14 that will offer TLC for Mom’s while the rest of their family is having fun in the Museum. Mom’s will also get FREE admission on Sunday, with the purchase of another admission ticket.

Bass Pros Shops

  • 10501 Palm River Road, Tampa, Florida 33619
    • Bass Pro Shops will be offering FREE 4 x 6 Family Photos this Mother’s Day Weekend from 12:00pm to 5:00pm on Saturday, May 13 and then 12:00pm to 4:00pm on Sunday, May 14; one photo per family. The first 100 families will receive a FREE tote bag as well.

Pirate Water Taxi

  • Tampa Riverwalk, Tampa, Florida 33602
    • Mom’s will get to ride the Pirate Water Taxi along the Hillsborough River from 11:30am until 12:00am on Saturday, May 13 and then until 10:00pm on Sunday, May 14. Mom’s admission on the Water Taxi will be FREE with the paid admission of another admission.

Tampa Bay History Center

  • 801 Old Water Street, Tampa, Florida 33602
    • From 10:00am until 5:00pm on Sunday, May 14, families who visit the Tampa Bay History Center will get their Mom’s Admission FREE. Kids will have the opportunity to make their Moms arts and crafts projects when they visit.
