Winter Village Returns to Downtown Tampa This Holiday Season

The Winter Village will be returning to Downtown Tampa this Holiday season at Curtis Hixon Waterfront park with even more festive shopping, dining and fun than last year!

The Winter Village will open on Friday, November 16 and  will close after the holidays on Saturday, January 5, 2019. The 5,000 square foot outdoor ice rink will be located toward the back of the park, along the Tampa Riverwalk. Admission to the ice rink is $14 per person and includes 90 minutes of skating as well as skate rentals, tickets can be purchased at the entrance to the rink. The ice rink will be open the following hours:

  • Monday-Thursday: 4:00pm-9:00pm
  • Friday: 4:00pm-10:00pm
  • Saturday: 10:00am-10:00pm
  • Sunday: 12:00pm-9:00pm
  • (The Ice Rink will be open 10:00am-10:00pm on November 19-23, December 26-28 and December 31-January 4)

 

  • Thanksgiving: Closed
  • Christmas Eve: 10:00am-6:00pm
  • Christmas Day: 4:00pm-10:00pm

The Shops of Winter Village will feature local vendors and businesses that will be a great opportunity to do some holiday shopping! Local businesses FroDough, Cotton Candy Bar, Chef Inspired Popcorn, The Modern Paws, Kahwa Coffee Roasting, Mise Waterfront Bar, Whatever Pops and Grilled Cheese among many others will be at the Shops of Winter Village.

Also back this year is the Winter Village Express aboard the TECO Line Streetcar. On Sundays from November 18 until December 23, riders can board the Streetcar at either the Whiting Station or at the Centro Ybor Station and enjoy holiday music, activities and some sweet treats, $5 per person for a roundtrip ticket. The first street car will leave the Whiting Station at 3:25pm, with hourly service and the last streetcar leaving at 7:25pm. The first car will leave the Centro Ybor Station at 3:55pm with hourly service and the last streetcar leaving at 7:55pm.

There are two new additions to Winter Village, the first being a holiday inspired Sand Sculpture by local sand sculptures Sandtastic. The second being a choreographed holiday light display that will “dance” to holiday classics throughout the park and lighting up the Downtown area.

On Opening Night of Winter Village, there will be a FREE showing of “Home Alone”, presented by the Tampa Theatre, on the Great Lawn of Curtis Hixon Park, be sure to bring a blanket and find the perfect spot on the lawn for the 7:30pm showing.
