The 3rd Annual Tampa Riverfest will be taking place on May 6 and 7, 2017 and will be bigger and better than ever!
With the events spanning from beyond Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, this year’s Riverfest will begin on Saturday, May 6 and will include a Hot Dog Festival which will start with a “Weiner Dog Derby” from 10:00am until 4:00pm with proceeds supporting the Dashaund Rescue, a “Best of the Bay Hot Dog” Contest from 4:00pm until 8:00pm. But, even more exciting at 7:00pm there will be a Men and Women’s Qualifier for the “Nathan’s Famous 4th of July Hot Dog Eating Contest” and later that evening a Hot Air Balloon Glow at 8:30pm, which is always a popular event. (All of these above events will take place at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park.)
Also on Saturday at MacDill Park, there will be a pop-up bar from 11:00am until 5:00pm that will include local food vendors and even art exhibits. There will be live music at the Sail Pavilion and an “Asia Fest” at Cotanchobee Park near the Marriott Waterside Hotel.
The Gasparilla Stand-Up Paddle Board Invasion will take place at Water Works Park and the Kids of Imagination Play Area and Secret Walls Graffiti War Competition will be hosted by the Straz Center.
On Sunday, May 7 there will be just as much live entertainment as well as live music at Ulele and a Pops in the Park Concert. The Pirate Water Taxi will also join in on the fun and be offering one-way rides for just $5 per person.
