Championship Weekend Part 3: “Taste of the Championship”

An important event that is a big part of the National Championship weekend is the “Taste of the Championship” that will be taking place at the Florida Aquarium on Sunday, January 8, 2017 from 7pm-10pm.

In previous host cities, the “Taste of the Championship” was held at their respective Convention Centers, but Tampa decided to change it up and host the event at one of the city’s best venues, the Florida Aquarium.

The “Taste of the Championship” benefits the College Football Playoff Foundation’s “Extra Yard for Teachers”.

Throughout the night, guests in attendance will be able to browse around the beautiful Florida Aquarium while enjoying delicious cuisine from several local, well-known restaurants. Each restaurant will have their Chef on hand and there will also be several Chefs from restaurants across the United States preparing cuisine for guests to try as well. Celebrities will also be on hand throughout the night.

  • Atlanta: Chef Kevin Rothbun (Rothbun’s)
  • Miami: Chef Allen Susser (The Cafe at Books & Books)
  • New Orleans: Chef Chris Lusk (Pontchartrain Hotel)
  • Dallas: Chef David Holben ( Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steak House)

Tickets for the “Taste of the Championship” will be $250 per guest and includes unlimited food and beverage and admission to the Florida Aquarium.

The “Extra Yard for Teachers” Organization has helped over 5,000 schools and nearly 50,000 teachers across the country leading to over 1 million students’ education benefiting from the money raised during this organization’s existence.
