Waterfront Transformed into Winter Village

This holiday season the Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park has been transformed into the 2016 Winter Village which is sure to bring joy to those all across Tampa Bay.

An integral part of the Village is the ice skating rinks which has previously been a part of holiday celebrations in Tampa for the past several years. This year the ice rink is even bigger and better than in previous years and will give skaters an even better view of the Hillsborough River, something you can only get when you skate in Florida!

The cost to skate is $12 per person for 90 minutes of skate time which also includes skate rentals for each skater as well. The rink will be open until December 25, 2016 with the operating hours listed below:

  • Monday-Thursday: 4:00pm-9:00pm+
  • Friday: 4:00pm-10:00pm
  • Saturday: 10:00am-10:00pm
  • Sunday: 12:00pm-9:00pm

After skating, be sure to stroll through the rest of the Winter Village and check out the Sono Cafe, from the Tampa Museum of Art, which will offer holiday inspired snacks and drinks as well as a bar to pick up alcoholic beverages and other coffee drinks.

If you are still doing your holiday shopping, there will be a Pop-Up Market as part of the Winter Village this season. The Market will feature over twenty different vendors throughout the holiday season offering  a variety of goods for everyone on your list, pets, house decor and Christmas decorations. Click here for a list of some of the shops that will be participating in the Pop-Up Market.

The best option for parking is either the Poe Parking Garage or street parking, both which charge a small hourly fee.

Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park is located at 600 N. Ashley Drive, Tampa, Florida 33602.
